Building A Bond Grant Community High School seniors, Sydney Fruehling and Emma Hansen share how meeting new friends during freshman year can make life-long bonds. These girls met during their science class freshman year and continue to be friends still now that they are seniors. Having a friend who is by your side throughout high school can create such a special connection “Being friends all high school has honestly been the best because there is always someone to brighten up your day,” senior Sydney Fruehling said.

Everyone remembers the beginnings of high school, a
new stage in a student’s life, a new access to freedom.
Freshman year is filled with the fears of the unknown,
How will I find my classes? How will I manage my time? Will I
have to make new friends? But, as high school takes its course,
students come to the realization that new information learned,
new clubs joined, and new friendships formed are the most
memorable aspects of high school. Everyone experiences high
school differently. The friendships made in high school bring
a new perspective into a student’s experience. Friends are the
people that provide a shoulder to lean on. Senior at Grant,
Sydney Fruehling said ̈Even if we aren’t put in any of the same

Classes, it is nice being able to walk with each other in
between classes to catch up. It is one of the best parts of
the day. ̈ Being able to build relationships with people
you spend every day with will positively affect the mind. Three
different pairs of friends brought the positive aspects and their
experience with being friends throughout high school.
