Poetry isn’t static– it has evolved, with new forms emerging to reflect changing times.
The newest form of poetry is called New Sincerity, which was invented due to the lack of interest and understanding in the art of poetry. New Sincerity is a form of poetry that is easier to understand, evaluate and feel. It prioritizes understanding and getting something important across easily, rather than using difficult or old language. The poetic style is straight forward, doesn’t use esoteric language, and has clear and concise meanings.
People continue to fight for poetry to this day, stating that this ancient form of art is crucial to unlocking deeper meanings, fostering emotional connection, and helping process feelings. As for music, it’s one of the main factors for pushing to keep poetry alive. Poetry isn’t necessarily dying, just has evolved into the modern language, and is more commonly converted into music instead of the traditional on paper.
