Kyra Jagodzinski, Assistant Editor in Chief
Kyra is a Junior at Grant Community High School in Fox Lake and has been a journalist for The Bark since 2019. She has made her way up from Features Editor (2019-2020, 2020-2021) to the Assistant Editor in Chief, and is dedicated to providing GCHS students with informative, interesting articles that inspire growth in both their personal and professional lives. Aside from her dedication to her education at Grant, Kyra takes classes at the College of Lake County after school. Kyra is devoted towards advancing her professional career. She works as a Constituent Liaison for Illinois State Senator Melinda Bush, as well as working as a Legislative Intern for the Illinois State Senate, an Intern for the Newton Action Alliance, an Intern for Multi Media Channels, and owns her own clothing line. In her free time, she is devoted towards improving her community and increasing knowledge on topics she holds close and does so through engaging in aiding the homeless community of Lake County, volunteering with environmental nonprofits, and leading mentorship programs through such, producing a political podcast, publishing books and leading an observational study on new voter participation in Lake County. Kyra also serves on Congresswoman Lauren Underwoods Agriculture Committee and the Washington Post Advisory Board. As personal hobbies, she plays the flute (8 years) and the violin (3 years), while also participating in tennis (2 years) and Mixed Martial Arts (11 years). In the future, Kyra hopes to further advance her political career and work towards making her communities citizens safe, happy, and healthy whilst constantly improving their world for the future.
