When placed in a position of power, our economy faces a crucial decision. The path you choose could determine the future for many. This issue has become increasingly prominent in popular companies like Amazon and Uber, as well as the Hollywood industry, often leading to systemic abuses and inequities. Many people believe that because they hold higher positions of power, they are entitled to certain rights that others do not have, which can lead them to misuse their authority. For some, the ego craves power, which can create challenges within an industry. Society pays close attention to powerful individuals because we know they can create change, but why do certain people with power use it negatively? Some crave control, others lack empathy, making it difficult for those without power to gain confidence in their work. With this lack of confidence, those in power can exploit others, keeping them at their lowest. In an economy like ours, growing in industries that don’t distribute equal power across the board can be challenging. These companies are abusing their power, and their harmful actions will have a devastating, exponential impact on the world.

Alyxandria Walker, Artist
My name is Alyxandria Walker. I decided to join Journalism because I've always enjoyed art and drawing. I'm glad to be in the art department because I can express my creativity and get constructive criticism if needed. I end up reviewing my art and looking at the references there. I've also made a few friends in Journalism; it's pretty fun.
