A lack of motivation, a drop in grades, uncompleted assignments, procrastination, and loss of interest in work and activities. These are all symptoms of a common “crippling disease” called: Senioritis.
Senioritis affects seniors across the world and even affects students here, at Grant. Although it might seem like it, Senioritis IS NOT deadly. Ollie Ligeza, a survivor of Senioritis, states that Senioritis can be helped by “[Making] sure you have at least a vague idea of what you’re going to do [outside of high school]”. Having a goal to work towards is certainly a good way to gain motivation and fend off any Senioritis that is coming your way.
Another survivor of senioritis, Sommer Khi, states that the best way to stay on top is to “[not] fall behind on school work because it is going to be really hard to catch up”
Someone you know could be infected with this common yet draining disease that any senior is susceptible
to getting. To gain motivation and rid yourself of senioritis, contact friends, family, or grant staff to help clear your
mind of any remaining Senioritis in your immune system.
“Setting Goals” can benefit you. Start getting better grades, motivation, a high GPA, a sense of achievement, more time to have fun, success, and overall optimism and happiness. By making a goal to work toward, seniors can finish the school year successfully, and ready for college.
Don’t risk falling into this portal of failure, set goals, and take senior year seriously before it is too late.
