Future Business Leaders of America, FBLA, is an organization that helps students prepare for their future business passions or hobbies. Students can compete in categories like advertising, journalism, computer science, digital art, and economics, which barely scrapes the surface, with over 70 different events to compete in. Grant’s FBLA group is very welcoming and will never turn down a student. FBLA advisor, Mr. Schaap states, “…it’s really just a matter of filling out the membership form, paying your dues, and then showing up when we meet!” FBLA provides students with many abilities, they did not enter the club having. Schaap mentions “There’s a lot of workshops and guest speakers…they can just find out information, they might not have already known…a lot of the time the competitions involve public speaking or going in front of judges, so just kind of becoming more comfortable with those qualities.” FBLA creates opportunities for students that others don’t come across very easily. For any unanswered questions or genuine interest, talk to Mr. Schaap, and become a Future Business Leader of America.
