The last four years have been an experience to say the least. During my time here at Grant, I was on the bowling team. I’ve met some good people throughout my time there and am currently still friends with some of them. Some of my achievements during those past four years were winning the bulldog pride award last year and having my all time high series being a 648 with a 216 average that night. When things didn’t go the way I wanted them to go I tried and
figured out what went wrong. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. When I’m filled up with anger and frustration from things not going the way I want, I pull out my ol’ reliable playlist. Which is filled with songs from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, and others like them. In my experience the crazier the concept the better. I’m referring to songs like In The Flesh, Run Like Hell, and Waiting for the Worms are perfect examples of pure insanity. They’re from The Wall by Pink Floyd. Now moving away from that because I can ramble on about those
guys for a while.
My freshman year was in 2020-2021 so if you know, you know. It was all online and felt like the sequel to the last quarter of 8th grade and didn’t really experience high school until Junior year. Sophomore year we were in masks and it still didn’t really feel right until the second semester where the mandate was lifted. One more thing about my bowling experience is that Freshman-Sophomore year we had to wear those masks and it was stupid because the bowling
alley which is our home is Raymond’s didn’t really enforce it and the mask thing was stupid as a whole. Junior year felt like I was properly back in school and things felt normal. Junior year is also where I believe I peaked in bowling as I mentioned before. That was the year with my high series and I won an award for putting in the time and effort. This year has felt pretty chill and I got to take some fun elective classes including this one. Being on The Bark has been interesting for me as someone who doesn’t really talk in class. I’d say the piece I’m most proud of is my review of Animals from the one and only Pink Floyd. To this day I don’t know how I got away with doing that. All the other ones were fine. The final bricks are being placed in my wall for high school and all in all it’s just another brick in the wall.
