Best Animation Spider-Man Across the Spider-verse: “It has different types of animation that also include
a realistic touch while keeping the comic alive throughout,” Emeri Oliver, Sophomore.
Best Costumes Barbie: “The movie uses multiple outfit changes to convey the Barbie movie’s message of a world with everyone having the same perspective, but something changes and changes everything. At the movie’s beginning, they use the pink and white plaid dress to indicate the stereotypical Barbie.Throughout the movie, the directors use real-life Barbie outfits to let the audience reminisce on their childhood. The Barbie movie creates a man vs. women barrier with outfits, making women wear dresses and heels and men wear suits and ties in corporate-like buildings,” Samantha Collins, Junior.
Best Actor Cillian Murphy: “Cillian Murphy had an Oscar winning performance with a very grounded take on the character. He helped me really understand Oppenheimer and all of the trauma and hardships following the making of the Hiroshima bomb,” Gabriel Esparza, Senior.
Best supporting actor Ryan Gosling: “Ryan Gosling was a good actor for Ken because he was able to resemble the personality of Ken very well,” Abbigale Hamner, Freshman.
Best Director Christopher Nolan: “Christopher Nolan was a great director for this film, he did an amazing job of creating an intense movie from start to finish,” Armaan Yazdani, Senior.
Best Actress Emma Stone: “She’s a really talented actress. I loved her in Zombieland especially,” Cassidy Graham Junior.
Best Cinematography Oppenheimer: ” I think the cinematography was [Christopher Nolan’s] best considering the fact
that he only used practical effects and made the movie for an imax experience,” Gabriel Esparza Senior.
